The Irish Traction Group is pleased to announce a weekend of
Diesel Heritage Traction on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th
March 2010.
The weekend will start on Saturday, March 6th, with a
railtour from Dublin to Sligo and back, using a pair of 141
Class locomotives (subject to availability) hauling a set of the
Railway Preservation Society of Ireland’s heritage coaches. This
is probably your last chance to travel behind Iarnród Éireann
141 Class locomotives before they are withdrawn. The ITG
acknowledges the co-operation of the RPSI in making this
railtour possible.
On Sunday, March 7th,
ITG owned “A” Class locomotive, A39, will haul its first planned
passenger train on the Downpatrick and County Down Railway. “E”
and “G” class locomotives, and the NIR Railbus, may also be used
on the day, subject to availability. A road coach is being run
from Dublin to Downpatrick, and back, to connect with this
event. The ITG acknowledges the co-operation of the DCDR in
making this event possible.
Join us for either of these great days out. Better still, why
not attend both?
