A trio of Bo-Bos, a first in Irish railway preservation?

June 29, 2025

Saturday 28th June saw another day of testing and debugging the new arrivals at Downpatrick saw 146 in multi with 190 and 124. With hours of head scratching and problem solving behind us, we could just put the locos to bed.

But that would be too easier. Instead, we hauled all three locos out, and, coupled them together and joined up the multiple-working cables, the results of which you can enjoy in the video below..

More than two GMs in multi is a preservation first for Ireland we believe.

If do enjoy these noise and would like to help our efforts in Irish diesel locomotive preservation, please consider donating, any amount is welcomed, it all adds up.

Another way to support us is to join us as a member—our magazine now includes an online option.
