What data do we process?

The Irish Traction Group processes the following data:

• Your name and contact details when you become a member or renew your membership, so we can send you newsletters and other communications
• Your contact details when you send a donation, so we can contact you to acknowledge the donation.
• Your contact details whenever you contact us using the Contact Form or email addresses, so we can respond to your query.
• Anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics to help us manage the website and improve it. This includes what sort of browser you use, your screen size, what device you are using and some general details about your geographical location. You can opt out of this data recording via our cookies banner, or by visiting the cookies webpage.

What is the lawful basis for processing this data?

We need to process your contact details. Without these details, it is not possible for you to be a member of the Irish Traction Group as it would not be possible to contact you.

For donations, we need to process your contact details so we know where the donation came from and from who.

For website contacts, we need to use the details you provide so we can respond to your query.

You anonymous usage statistics are gathered to help us maintain and improve the website. They do not enable us to identify you individually, and we anonymise the IP address before it is recorded. You can also opt out of this if you prefer, as it is technically what is known as a tracking cookie. See our cookies webpage for more details.

Sharing your information

The Irish Traction Group will never share any of your information outside of the organisation.

Within the organisation, only those Committee Members or people holding Posts of Special Responsibility will have access to only the information they require to administer the organisation..

Data retention

The Irish Traction Group will hold your contact details for membership purposes for the duration of your membership, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can contact you for renewal purposes.

Our web servers are based in both EU and non-EU locations. Any personal information stored online will be protected by industry standard encryption (such as using Google Drive),

You have the right to contact us to ask what information we hold about you. You also have the right to correct any information that you believe is incorrect.
