The Irish Traction Group has been shortlisted in the Heritage Railway Association 2026 Awards “Achievement of the Year” category. This a joint nomination with the Downpatrick & County Down Railway for “Moyexit”. “Moyexit” is our name for our combined efforts to move our four Moyasta-based diesel locomotives, Nos.A3R, 124, 152 and 190, to Downpatrick over the summer. Our teams spent months at both Moyasta and Downpatrick preparing for and taking delivery of the locomotives. This was a true gauntlet of determination, perseverance, and cross-border and inter-organisation cooperation.
The winner of the category will be announced at the HRA Awards dinner on Saturday 7th March 2026 in Llandudno.
