Here we present the ‘official’ video of the 2025 Downpatrick Diesel Gala – highlights of which include Downpatrick's Wickham Railcar No. 713 "Rosie" making its first public appearance and the entry into service of our preserved 121 class loco No. 124, not much more than two months since it was transported from Moyasta in County Clare to Downpatrick.
Also featured are Downpatrick's 450 Class "Thumper" railcar set No. 458 "Antrim Castle" and of course our own locos No. 146 and No. A39R, both taking turns to haul the heritage carriage rake compromising of vintage BCDR and GSWR vehicles. With the BCDR being the first railway in Ireland to use a mainline diesel locomotive, their presence behind our locos is less incongruous than you might think.
