Congratulations to ITG volunteer Des Sage, who successfully passed out as a GM loco driver at Downpatrick on Saturday 12th September.
Following two years of intensive training, including qualifying as a shunter and guard, Saturday was test day for Des. This included a written rules exam, verbal rules follow-up, and a day of train operations. Locomotive 124 even wore L-plates front and rear for the occasion.
Suffice to say, Des passed with flying colours and is now qualified to drive all of our GM locomotives at the railway.
